Reaching out for support in navigating your deepest concerns takes courage. Whether you are searching for reconnection, experiencing stress or burnout from the heaviness of life’s challenges, or hoping to gain personal insight through self-discovery, I recognize how important it is to feel seen and understood. My style is warm, welcoming, and relaxed, and I will work alongside you with empathy and nonjudgment as we move through your healing journey.
My approach to therapy is relational – through the therapeutic relationship, we can begin to explore how to deepen your relationship with yourself, and how to reconnect and find meaning in your relationships with others. From a trauma-informed and culturally responsive platform, I integrate aspects of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and Narrative Therapy into my work with clients. I am passionate about the connection between our mind and body and incorporate relaxation and grounding practices into the therapeutic space as well.
I have worked as a counsellor for over five years, supporting individuals experiencing concerns with anxiety, life transitions, relationship stressors, burnout, depression, and more. I am committed to creating a safe and comfortable environment for mindful reflection and self-compassion. Collaboratively, we can explore your wellness needs and create a path towards living in a way that feels balanced and aligned with your values.
I graduated from York University with an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and have completed a Post-Graduate Certificate in Addictions and Mental Health as well. I am currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University, and I am a student member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). Under the supervision of Kayleen Edwards, I am able to practice psychotherapy at Roots in Wellness while completing my practicum.
In my spare time, I am often engaging in activities that promote centeredness and alignment – hiking along trails, reading books, practicing yoga, and travelling to new places with family and friends are just a few of my favourite pastimes.
