Coaching provides an alternative option for individuals who are looking for some help making changes in their life, but aren’t necessarily looking for therapy.

Coaching is a more structured, solution-focused service where we help you focus on how you can move forward in life, and provide you with the tools to do so. Whatever it is in your life that you want to work on, our mission is to help you be successful.

We offer coaching for a wide range of situations and scenarios, ultimately tailoring our services to your needs. Coaching sessions work similarly to our counselling services, with 50-minute sessions for $115/hour plus HST. We offer 50-minute coaching sessions as frequently or infrequently as you’d like. These sessions are offered both in-person at our office in Hamilton, Ontario, or online through our video conferencing service.

We offer vocational services to individuals who are conflicted about their current jobs, looking for work, entering the workforce, or looking at making a career change.

Health and Wellness Coaching

At Roots in Wellness, we are passionate about overall health and wellness, and the idea that our bodies are intrinsically connected to our minds. When we suffer emotionally, our bodies suffer, and when we suffer physically, our minds suffer.

Health and wellness coaching can teach you some strategies to help improve your overall health, both mentally and physically. Concepts such as mindfulness practice, exercise, spiritual wellness, healthy eating, and self-care are explored to help you live your healthiest life.

Life-Transition Coaching

The majority of clients that we see have gone through a major life transition, or change, which has completely upended their lives. These life transitions aren’t always negative, and they do not always lead to mental illness. At times, big changes in our lives can simply lead to confusion and a lack of direction. We feel unmotivated and unsure where to go; perhaps the way we’ve always defined ourselves has suddenly changed, and we don’t know how to rebuild our lives around this new change.

Often this process involves identifying what is important to you, identifying strengths, rebuilding a sense of structure in your life, and working on rebuilding your identity. We help you do this through working on self-esteem, values and goals, and long-term planning. Common life transitions include:

  • Becoming an empty-nester (children leaving the home)
  • Divorce
  • Death in the family
  • Career change
  • Entering the work force
  • Retirement/leaving the work force
  • Physical injury

General Coaching

Sometimes in life, we simply feel lost. There may not be any trigger or event that leads to this, but we simply find ourselves going through the motions of life, without any real direction.

When this happens, sometimes all we need is a push to help us get motivated, set some goals for our future, and begin moving towards a fulfilling and happy life. With general life coaching, we focus on helping you figure out what it is that you want out of life. Maybe you’ve entered college or university, but can’t seem to find your passion. Maybe you’re still in high school and feeling like you have no direction. Maybe you’ve been in the same job for so long, you’re feeling complacent. No matter your struggles, we’re here to help!

Through values identification, goal settings, and exploration of your own motivations, we can help you get back on track to living the fulfilling and meaningful life that you’ve always dreamed of.
