Gender Therapy
Gender identity therapy is a specialized form of counselling designed to support individuals in exploring, understanding, and affirming their gender identity. Navigating your gender identity can be a difficult and isolating endeavour, and our therapists are here to help you.
Importantly, gender identity therapy respects each person’s unique journey and timing. Our goal is to help you explore your identity and work to find yourself, no matter what the answer is for you. We want to provide a safe space for you to express how you’re feeling, explore different aspects of your identity, and determine what changes (if any) make sense for you.Â
Exploring Identity
Begin exploring your identity, inside and outside of your gender. Work to understand yourself and your values so that who you are and what you want becomes more clear.
Addressing Gender Dysphoria
Explore experiences of gender dysphoria and how to cope more effectively with these feelings. Come up with a plan to work through these feelings and determine solutions.
Support System
Take some time to look at your support system, build it up, and ensure that you have people that you can trust and be yourself with.
Develop a Plan
Develop a plan for change based on your needs. This doesn't necessarily mean transitioning; changes are based on what you want and need in your life.
