Rachel Marriott

I believe therapy should feel like a safe, supportive place where you don’t have to face challenges alone. My style is compassionate, collaborative and grounded in curiosity. I will work collaboratively with you to explore patterns and uncover your strengths while creating new ways of coping.

About Me

I am someone who values a balanced lifestyle and social connection. Outside of work, I live an active and social lifestyle, often spending quality time with my family and friends. I have a deep love for travel and enjoy exploring new cultures, experiences, and perspectives, which I believe
enrich both my personal life and professional work. Staying active is a big part of who I am. Whether I’m playing hockey or golf, watching or attending sporting events, doing yoga, or finding ways to blend mindfulness into physical activity, I’m always seeking ways to stay grounded and present. I also have a huge love for animals especially dogs. These passions not only bring me joy but also inspire how I connect with clients: with energy, openness, and a genuine appreciation for the diverse paths people walk in life.

Professional Background

I currently work as a Recreation Therapist in an inpatient treatment facility within an Addiction and Mood Concurrent Disorders Program. My background includes experience supporting individuals with substance use challenges, eating disorders, dementia, and neurobehavioral conditions. Across these diverse clinical settings, I have developed a strong foundation in using a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) lens to explore how thoughts, emotions, and behaviours are deeply interconnected. My passion for supporting others in their emotional and psychological healing has naturally led me toward the path of becoming a psychotherapist. I am excited to deepen my work by integrating more formal talk therapy approaches, while continuing to draw on the experiential and strengths-based perspective that recreation therapy has given me. My goal is to bring a holistic, compassionate, and client-centered approach to psychotherapy that honours both inner experience and lived action.
