“What we don’t need in the midst of struggle is shame for being human.” — Brené Brown

The beauty of being human is that we are always evolving. While we can often navigate life’s challenges on our own, there are times when additional support can make a meaningful difference. Many people today feel overwhelmed, anxious, or uncertain about how to manage the pressures they face.

I’m Rachel, a Registered Social Worker with over 15 years of experience supporting adolescents, adults, couples, families, and seniors. My goal is to help you reconnect with your inner strengths and develop practical tools to navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and clarity.

Together, we will create a personalized plan that reflects your goals and values. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches while providing a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you can feel heard and understood.

Taking the first step toward support can feel difficult, but it can also be the beginning of meaningful change. I offer a free phone consultation and would be happy to connect with you.

I am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Social Work from McMaster University and a Master of Social Work from University of Windsor, and I have been in clinical practice for over a decade.

I have extensive experience supporting individuals dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, and concerns related to parenting, relationships, and chronic illness. In addition to my private practice, I work at Hamilton Health Sciences in an outpatient setting, where I support patients and families impacted by chronic illness, grief, and bereavement.

I work with individuals and couples from diverse cultural backgrounds, religions, gender identities, and sexual orientations, and have experience in both agency and private practice settings.

I have specialized training in mental health, trauma, couples therapy, and supporting those living with chronic illness. My therapeutic approach is integrative and tailored to each client’s needs. Modalities I draw from include Gottman Method Couples TherapyCognitive Behavioral Conjoint Therapy for PTSDCognitive Behavioral Therapy, Inner Child Work, Strengths-Based Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy.

Outside of my work as a therapist, I’m also a wife and a proud mother of twins. My personal life is deeply important to me and helps shape the empathy and perspective I bring to my work with clients. Like many of the people I support, I balance the joys and challenges of family life, which gives me a genuine appreciation for how complex and demanding life can sometimes feel.

I’m an animal lover and feel most grounded when I’m spending time outdoors. I enjoy hiking, swimming, snowboarding, boating, and scuba diving, and I love any opportunity to explore new places through travel. Whether it’s a quiet walk in nature or an adventure somewhere new, being outside helps me recharge and stay connected to what matters most.

I also enjoy reading and lifelong learning, both personally and professionally. Curiosity and growth are values that guide my life, and they are the same values I bring into the therapy room.

I believe that therapy works best when there is a genuine human connection. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, understood, and supported as you explore challenges, build resilience, and move toward the life you want to live. If you feel like we would be a good fit, let’s chat over a free 15 minute consultation.
