“creativity is the greatest rebellion in existence”

-Osho

Life is tough – we all experience struggles and difficulties and we can’t get through it all alone, we weren’t meant to! I believe that whatever you’re experiencing, rather than being abnormal, is actually a normal human reaction to life circumstances in the context of your lived experience.

Rather than pathologizing your experiences or what you’re feeling, I work with you to treat your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours with compassion and understanding.

My focus in my practice is providing support to the LGBTQ2S+ community, recognizing that resources for the community are limited and supports are needed. As a queer woman myself, I’m passionate about providing a safe space not only in my therapy room, but my practice as a whole, for everyone, regardless of gender, sexuality, race, religion, ethnicity, etc.

I operate from an anti-oppressive lens and work to educate myself every day about various cultures, demographics, and populations in order to be able to provide support for everyone. Because we all deserve to have a place where we can be our complete authentic selves without fear of judgement.

My areas of specialization include gender identity and sexuality, and sexual issues. I have a great deal of education and experience working with individuals questioning their identity, exploring their options, coming out, and transitioning. In addition, I help individuals in relationships navigate changes that come along with time, gender or sexuality shifts, and improving overall connection.

My approach is person-centered and integrative, as I believe that you are the expert in your own life, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I will work with you to determine your therapeutic goals, foster compassion and acceptance of self, and move forward in your life in a meaningful way.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor operating a practice that is, at present, 100% virtual. I have a background in business, fitness, and mental health, with over 10 years of experience working in the mental health field.

I have extensive training and experience in the realms of sex, relationships, gender identity, and sexuality, and the process of gender transitioning in Ontario. I focus on providing a safe, supportive, non-judgmental space for you to explore your identity, needs, and life as a whole.

In addition to general therapy or counselling sessions, I also offer consultation and support sessions to help you on your journey. Consultation sessions are available to the trans community for those who want to learn more about transitioning, but who do not feel they could benefit from therapy at this time. Supportive consultation sessions are designed for friends and family members of the LGBTQ+ community to learn more about how they can support their friends or family members.

As a queer woman who came out late in life, I understand how difficult it can be to come to terms with your own identity, and put yourself first. Discovering who you are can be a long and arduous process, and I’m honoured to be a part of your journey.

When I’m not with clients, supervising qualifying professionals, or hosting webinars, you can most often find me on the soccer pitch. I’m a huge sports fan and I love to stay active physically and within my community. I play on competitive and recreational soccer teams, along with volleyball, slow pitch, dodgeball, and golf.
I love animals and live with my two beautiful kitties who are my world, as well as some other, less conventional pets. I enjoy travelling and exploring new things. I love to cook and bake, and have never once followed a recipe the way it was written. I enjoy being creative through writing, drawing, and through my cooking (which doesn’t always go well!).
