Trauma Informed Therapy
Starting therapy to address past trauma can be an incredibly daunting experience. Taking those first steps towards healing is both difficult and rewarding, and we’re here to help you through it. Trauma informed therapy can take many different forms but ultimately seeks to increase self-compassion, self-care, and guide you through processing traumatic events.
Our mission is to provide a safe and nurturing space for individuals to process their trauma. We emphasize compassion and validation, reminding clients that trauma work is nonlinear due to the complexities, and can be processed at their own pace. Therapy for trauma returns power to the client and allows them to take back control of their life.
Self-Compassion
One of the first steps in working through trauma is fostering compassion for yourself and your experiences.
Exploration
At your pace, we will explore your past experiences, gaining a better understand of what happened so that you can begin to heal.
Processing
Through a variety of different approaches (see below), we will work with you to help you process your trauma, come to terms with what happened, and learn how to move forward in a positive way.
Self-care
We will help you develop more effective ways to practice self-care so that you can cope effectively and live a valued life.
