COURSE OVERVIEW

We know that the CRPO Entrance Exam has high stakes, and along with that comes high anxiety. This exam is unlike any other exam you’ve likely taken, and that can be intimidating when there’s so much at stake.

Our exam preparation groups help clinicians prepare for the exam by reviewing not only the content that might be covered in the exam, but also the structure and grading. The format of our lives groups involves a combination of webinar, workshop, and group supervision formats in order to cater to different learning styles and help keep engagement in the groups.

These groups are intended to eliminate the need for you to engage in any sort of studying for the exam, as all of the content is covered throughout the two parts. If you prefer to engage in independent study to review the competency profile, standards, and ethics, then you may opt to only do part 1.

Part 2 of the Exam Preparation group operates more like a study group, where we review the core competencies, standards of practice, ethics, and legislation around practicing Psychotherapy. ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR

My name is Jennifer Lane and I am a Registered Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor with over 10 years of experience in Psychotherapy, business, management, and training.

I was on the board of directors for the OAMHP for 7 years where I gained a great deal of knowledge of the standards and ethics related to Psychotherapy, as well CRPO-specific standards, and held the position of Chair of Professional Development for 2 years.

I developed this course a few years ago in response to some clinicians offering very long, expensive courses that seemed to me to be unnecessary. I took the exam myself at the beginning of my career and while it was daunting, I feel as though many therapists are already equipped to complete the exam successfully.

This course started out as a 1-hour course to help clinicians understand the grading and structure, and has since transformed to be a bit more comprehensive, however it has always been important to me to have options and to ensure I’m not taking advantage of anyone. I see Part 1 as an opportunity to understand the exam better and improve your confidence, and Part 2 as more of a study group to fill in any gaps you may have.

I feel passionately about this work and I know that there are so many good therapists out there who deserve to feel confident going into this exam. If you are looking for additional support or would prefer one-on-one guidance with the exam, please feel free to reach out to me directly to discuss jennifer@rootsinwellness.ca.

If you require financial assistance, please email me directly at jennifer@rootsinwellness.ca. Finances should never be a barrier to accessing resources for your career.
