CRPO CBA Exam Preparation

The Case Based Assessment (CBA) has been introduced as a quality assurance program within the CRPO. This exam will be repeated by each RP every 5 years. The exam is intended to test your ethical decision making and ensure that you are able to follow ethical guidelines and the standards of practice. You can learn more about the exam here.

Please note that these are supervision groups that are intended to help guide you through ethical dilemmas and prepare for the exams. Groups will be capped at 8 participants and participants will earn 3 group supervision hours.

Purpose & Learning Objectives

This preparation group is intended to help you understand the exam format and answer questions about ethical scenarios that may come up on the exam. 
By the end of this group, you will: 

  • Understand the exam question format
  • Understand the exam grading and how to complete your responses
  • Understand how to read your results
  • Understand the purpose of the exam and the implications of your results
  • Become familiar with various ethical dilemmas that may arise in therapy
  • Learn how to navigate various ethical dilemmas based on the core competencies and CRPO standards

Structure

The structure of this supervision group allows for specific customization for the group that attends. 

In our first meeting we will review the structure of the exam questions, how to answer the questions, discuss what the CRPO is looking for, and the implications of your results.

After this, you’ll have a week to complete the CRPO’s practice questions for the CBA online and write down any questions you have or note which ones you struggled with. 

In part two we will review those specific scenarios that group members had a harder time with, answer any outstanding questions, and review other relevant case studies and ethical dilemmas.
