“When expectations feel overwhelming, it’s easy to start believing you’re not good enough. Between family, friends, and social media, it can feel impossible to meet the standards everyone else sets for us. If you’re tired of comparing yourself to others and want to care less about what other people think of you, you are in the right place.”

“While we address the challenges you’re facing, we’ll also strive to find moments of joy and even humour. I am a strong believer that laughter can be a powerful tool in therapy. We will take the work seriously and we will have some laughs along the way.”

I use a person-centred approach to encourage my clients to explore the stories they believe about themselves, other people, and the world. From there, we work together to understand how these stories impact their lives and seek moments where these stories are untrue. Using a strengths-based approach, clients begin to learn new stories about themselves helping them live authentically, feel confident, and focus on what is truly important to them. My approach is rooted in Narrative Therapy while integrating aspects of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Mindfulness. I strive to build genuine connections with my clients by showing up to sessions as my authentic self. We might work well together if you love story-telling, find humour in the tough times, and want to be called out on your (stuff).

I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I completed a Master of Arts in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy from Wilfrid Laurier University. This program integrated religion in spirituality into counselling and I have completed coursework on Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Islam, and non-denominational spirituality. I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and Business from the University of Waterloo which included studying Queer Theory, Feminist Theory, and Social Constructionism. In my practice, I encourage clients to consider how societal norms and structures, such as patriarchy, heteronormativity, and capitalism, have impacted their lives. Prior to pursuing psychotherapy, I worked at a software company in account management in sales so I have first-hand experience with the stress of corporate life.

Throughout my life, fitness and nutrition have been important to me. I was a dancer growing up, and now I enjoy spin classes, weight lifting, and yoga. I have been vegan for almost 10 years and am fascinated by the impact food has on our mental health. In my practice, I often encourage clients to view themselves holistically and consider the impact sleep, nutrition, and movement have on their mental health.

Outside of my work as a therapist, I enjoy spending time with family, friends, and my goofy orange cat, Arthur. I like to read, watch TV and movies, and, when I have time, play The Sims. I love integrating my client’s interests into therapy, from making D&D character sheets to using Taylor Swift lyrics to communicate our emotions, our interests can be helpful in healing.
