Prioritizing yourself can be so tough. Between caring for our families, work commitments, and the daily grind of life – it can be too easy to let our own self care fall to the wayside. This can leave us feeling overwhelmed and stuck, spending our time scrolling mindlessly on social media instead of doing the things that are most important to us. If this is you – please know that you’re not alone, and that it doesn’t have to be this way.
Anxiety, excessive guilt, and self-doubt can lead to feeling overwhelmed and disconnected from yourself and those around you. I work with clients to help them reconnect with themselves, and get unstuck from tricky thoughts that can get in the way. Together we can work through unhelpful thinking patterns, allowing you to feel more in control and able to more fully engage in life. You are worthy taking this time for yourself, whether it’s processing old wounds, reconnecting with your inner child, or working through current-day life transitions.
I truly value the trust clients place in me to allow me to be a part of their story, sharing with me their inner most thoughts and feelings. Empathy is at the core of the work I do – to genuinely care for and respect each and every client, helping them on the road to taking better care of themselves and reaching their full potential.
After experiencing postpartum depression following the birth of my first child, I noted first-hand the lack of supports available to help new parents navigate the transition to parenthood. It was an eye-opening experience to notice this lack of support even as a therapist with experience in the mental health system, and it led me to seek specialized training in perinatal mental health.

In addition to my work with parents, I am a passionate advocate for the queer community, having worked with clients of diverse backgrounds and orientations on issues such as transitioning, coming out, and self-acceptance. No matter how you identify, I provide an affirming and caring space for you to be yourself.
Professional Background
I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I have my Honours Bachelors and Masters Degree in Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University, and have been in clinical practice for a decade. I have extensive experience working with stress, anxiety, depression, parenting issues, relationship issues, and LGBTQ+ issues. I work with a variety of clients from different cultures, religions, gender identities, and sexual orientations, and have experience in both agency and private practice settings.
I have specialized training in perinatal mental health, trauma, couples therapy, and supporting the queer community. My main therapeutic approaches include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Inner child work, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). I tailor the therapeutic approach I use to the individual I am seeing, and together we work as a team to make meaningful changes in their life. I offer Walk and Talk therapy in Hamilton, Ontario, e-counselling through an online video counselling platform, and phone counselling.
In addition to my work with clients, I am passionate about helping to train new and emerging clinicians. I believe that quality, empathetic, and honest supervision provides the framework for new clinicians to develop confidence in themselves which trickles down to the work they’ll do with clients they see.
I am a Validated Supervisor with the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP), and provide Clinical Supervision to other Registered Psychotherapist (RP’s) or students aspiring to become an RP. Clinical supervision is available online, in individual, dyadic, and group formats. You can find out more about my clinical supervision services by clicking here.
On a Personal Note…
I’m a wife and a mama to two young children, a rescue dog, and a cat. When I’m not in the therapy room, you can find me spending time in nature with my family, hiking on one of the many beautiful trails we have in Hamilton or working in my garden. I am also a passionate yogi, and a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) with the Yoga Alliance.

I am a fierce advocate for mental wellness and have had experiences in my life that have led me to seek my own therapy. I have found great benefit from the supportive, safe, and empathetic environments that therapists have provided for me, and it is a great privilege to be in a role where I can help provide this to clients whom I see.
I would be honoured to connect with you in a free consultation to see if we would be a good fit in working together.
