I take a holistic approach in my practice, recognizing the inextricable connection between physical and mental well-being. My work is grounded in evidence-based practices, and I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and somatic approaches to support you in developing practical skills, emotional awareness, and lasting changes. Further, I strive to create a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace. I integrate trauma-informed principles into my work with all clients to promote a sense of safety, honour your boundaries, and foster empowerment. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or seeking personal growth, I am here to help you develop tools, deepen insight, and move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.
About Me
I live in Hamilton with my partner and our Shiba Inu named Apollo. Outside of the therapy office I love spending time outdoors; on a sunny day you’ll find me hiking local trails, longboarding, or bird watching. On gloomier days I enjoy working on sewing projects or making soup in my giant cast iron pot I have affectionately nicknamed my “cauldron” !
I am a firm believer in the power of connection, sharing emotions – both joyful and difficult, and embracing the full range of our experiences – the good, the hard, and the messy – because that’s what makes us human. In my own life this translates to celebrating authenticity in all its forms, whether attending drag performances, or exploring local art events. I believe that being seen and heard in our authentic selves is essential for growth and healing.
I am currently accepting new clients for in-person, walk and talk, phone, and video sessions. If you feel we might be a good fit, I invite you to book a free 15 minute consultation to connect.
Professional Background
I have over six years of experience working as a mental health nurse in both inpatient hospital settings and outpatient private practice. Throughout my career, I have supported individuals facing complex mental health challenges, including but not limited to mood disorders, trauma, personality disorders, and co-occurring physical and mental health conditions.
In terms of my education, I hold a Diploma of Practical Nursing from Mohawk College, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from McMaster University, and am currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Additionally, I am a non-certified Student Member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
