While navigating the changes, challenges, and chaos of life are universal aspects of the human experience, we do not need to travel these roads alone, right? Even so, it’s not always easy to reach out for support. It takes courage to take that first step. (Nice work.)
Professional Background
I take an eclectic and holistic approach to therapy. Each person who courageously seeks the support and expertise of a therapist is unique and I believe their therapeutic experience must reflect this. Our approach may include leaning into your strengths, learning new supportive strategies, replacing coping mechanisms that no longer serve you, re-authoring the stories we tell ourselves, or focusing on solution-based behaviours. Through collaboration, we will create and enact an individualized approach that centers your experiences, goals, needs, and style preferences. While the therapeutic experience will be highly personalized, I am committed to ensuring all clients experience unrelenting compassion and non-judgement throughout our work together.
For over twenty years, I have had the privilege of being a movement coach and speaker working alongside people as they strive towards their goals, steer through challenging times, and continuously build upon their holistic wellness. Therapy, like coaching, is about meeting clients where they are and supporting growth towards where they want to be.
On a Personal Note…
I am perpetually inspired by the resilience, strength, and beauty of the human mind, body, and spirit. Outside of my work as a therapist, I spend a good chunk of time coaching and creating programs that center upon mental and physical strength and resiliency for kids, youth, and adults. When I’m not working with clients in the office, studio, or gym, I will be found dancing in the kitchen or crashed on the couch with my husband and our favourite little humans.
As an introvert (often mistaken for a very outgoing extrovert), I love to recharge with a little bit of alone time. Whether it’s lifting heavy things repetitively off the floor, wandering along country roads, or reading too late into the evening, these small moments have a way of grounding me. Equally, I love being around people and soak in the power of connection to others. Whether travelling the world, discussing philosophical quandaries, or digging in the garden, some things are just better shared.
I recognize that finding the right therapeutic fit for this chapter of your life can be difficult from reading professional biographies. If you’re interested in potentially working together, I invite you to book a complementary 15 minute phone consultation. (Note: I always recommend people reach out to a few therapists for consultations to get a feel for what might be best for them). I’m happy to discuss any questions you have about what it could be like to work together.
